Matlock Rotary presented a cheque for £500 to a Rwandan community project last week.
Past president Bill Darley presented Lynne Thornley, who raises cash on behalf of the Kinamba Project, with the cheque at the Temple Hotel, Matlock Bath.
The Kinamba Project is a community project for people in Kigali, Rwanda, which Lynne has raised money for through a sponsored swim at the Matlock Lido.
Lynne said: “I am so grateful for everyone’s generosity and a big thankyou to all who contributed, and particularly to the Matlock Rotary Club. The money will make a huge difference.
“Every penny benefits the Kinamba Community Project directly, providing education and support for the most needy.”
Bill Darley said: “Lynne has promised to keep us and the Rotary Club informed about how the money has been spent and the difference it has made. Thankyou again.”
