Lady Manners School in Bakewell has topped a national ranking for the most cost-effective schools in the country.
The study based on data released by Michael Gove, the education secretary, focused on the cost of achieving ‘A’ level grades. Schools with sixth forms were compared with one another.
Placed 22nd out of 1,660 schools, Lady Manners School was the top comprehensive school in the country, with each 100 ‘level 3’ points (just under half an A grade at A level) costing £428.24.
Headteacher Duncan Meikle, said: “This ranking is excellent news for Lady Manners School. We have a team of highly committed staff and students throughout the school and are well supported by parents.”
