School to host string quartet

A string quartet will be raising the roof with their rendition of some true classics.

Coull Quartet, who have performed throughout the world, will be performing in Matlock this Friday evening.

The musicians, who have been the University of Warwick’s quartet–in–residence since 1977. will tackle Mendelssohn’s Quartet in E flat, Opus 12 and Schubert’s Quartet in A minor, D804 (‘Rosamunde’) and Beethoven’s Quartet in F, Opus 135.

The performance will be the first concert in Matlock Music’s new season.

The event will be held in the Wheeldon Hall, Highfields School, Lumsdale, off the Chesterfield Road, at 7.30pm.

Tickets are available at the door prior to the concert at £10.

Those aged under 18, students and registered jobseekers can pay half price and all seats are unreserved.

There is ample parking at the school.
