Scouts are in pole position

Matlock Green Scout group tasted victory at the National Scoutcar Races last weekend returning home with six trophies.

The annual event, which took place at Rufforth Airfield in York, pushed cubs and scouts to the limit as their nerves and endurance was tested.

Scouts Bradley Keough, George Sandiford, Thomas Scott and Matthew Keough won all of their races and even bagged the best team trophy.

George Sandiford – who was a cub Scoutcar champion in previous years – was invested into Scouts on Friday and entered the Scouts team on Saturday winning the overall Scouts champion race.

The exhilerating event was competitive and fun and was enjoyed by all those who entered.

To complete the day a scout band performed.
