Four dedicated Matlock Scouts have achieved the highest award in their organisation.
Joseph Shields, Cameron Wardle, Michael Beech and Matthew Maltby received the Chief Scout’s Gold Awards at a presentation ceremony at Matlock’s County Hall.
The badge was gained by completing eight challenges including a community-based task, a fitness and creative challenges and an outdoor test.
The boys will now move on to Explorer Scouts – for children aged 14 to 18.
Leader Caroline Shield praised the four boys dedication to achieving their goals which involved completing a variety of gruelling challenges.
She added: “The Chief Scout’s Gold Awards are not given out very often.
“They have been working for this for a long time and have had to take part in all sorts of challenges.
“They have made a huge contribution to Scouts and have worked in the community and completed lots of different tasks.”
