Police are reminding Derbyshire motorists not to leave their cars unattended and unlocked while defrosting them.
Officers are issuing the security reminder as temperatures drop, leading to an increased likelihood of cars being stolen while being defrosted.
Motorists are being reminded to not leave their cars unlocked with the engine running while defrosting them, even in their own driveways.
Officers are also warning that you may put your own safety at risk if you try to stop someone stealing your car in this situation.
