Our Pictures in the Park competition is in full swing – and there’s still plenty of time for you to get involved
It’s your chance to prove your snapping skills by entering our exciting photo competition.
To celebrate Hall Leys Park’s 100th birthday this year we want to see your pictures of the park in all its glory.
As Hall Leys 100 takes place, there is so much going on in the park that snappers are spoilt for choice when it comes to subject matter.
We really want to see what all the photographers out there can make of the park – and we’re hoping that we’ll build up a picture of what Hall Leys Park means to the people of Matlock.
The only rules are that the picture must be of Hall Leys Park and it must be your own work.
We’ve already had some cracking shots come into the office, as you can see from the latest impressive entry.
But if you think you can do better, then now is the time to get out that camera and start snapping in the park for the chance to get your hands on the first prize trophy.
It is being run in conjunction with Matlock Town Council and together we will be turning the contest into an annual Matlock Photographer of the Year competition.
Winners will be announced at the end of August and our favourite shots will be displayed in the Cafe in the Park over the bank holiday weekend.
There will be a trophy and a certificate for the second and third place entries in two categories: 16 and under and adult.
To enter, simply email your entry in jpeg format to firstname.lastname@example.org along with your name, age, address and contact details.
Entries must be in jpeg form. Unfortunately, no printed photographs can be accepted for entry into the competition.
Anyone who does not have access to email can bring their entry into the office on a memory stick.
Normal Mercury competition rules apply.
