SEXUAL ASSAULT IN PARK: Description of attacker released

Police have renewed an appeal for information after a 22-year-old woman was sexually assaulted on an Derbyshire park.

A man pulled at her clothing before running off in the direction of the town centre from Alfreton Park at about 10.30am on Monday February 1, 2016.

The suspect is described as being an Asian man, of slim build. He appeared to be in his 30s and had stubble. He was wearing a black Adidas hooded top.

It’s believed he made off on foot possibly towards Wingfield Road, Alfreton.

A police spokesman said the woman was “very shocked” but unhurt by the attack.

DC Adam Gascoigne said: “This appears to be an isolated incident but we are treating it very seriously.”

Officers will be handing out leaflets during the next few days asking for anyone with information to come forward.
