Shoot for charity

Darley Dale Clay Pigeon Shooting Club held a charity event to raise funds for Derbyshire Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance.

The event saw 102 shooters taking part, raising £1,700 for the charity.

The club thanked local businesses especially Twiggs of Matlock and Darley Dale firms Platts Harris and Markovitz for donating raffle prizes.

Club members handed over a cheque to volunteers at the charity’s headquarters, in Derby.

Spokesman for the club David Hall said: “Every year we do a charity shoot and we pick a different charity.

“The air ambulance are not funded by the Government and they really on donations. They do an important job so we felt they deserved the money.”
