Here is your chance to get up close and personal with pop music icon, actor and director, Martin Kemp when he visits Buxton Opera House.

He will be talking about the early days, learning to play bass alongside his brother, guitarist Gary, and joining vocalist Tony Hadley and saxophonist Steve Norman to form Spandau Ballet in1979.

In his talk on May 29, you can expect to hear tales from the New Romantic days and what it was like living the dream as a famous pop star.

Martin will also shed light on his starring role as Steve Owen in EastEnders and the making of the hard-hitting film The Krays.

As well as becoming a director of feature films Martin has enjoyed a career as a writer of the acclaimed autobiography True.

Asking the questions will be Simon Price, who was section editor at Melody Maker (1988-1997). He has interviewed some of the biggest names in the music business including Courtney Love, Kylie Minogue, Bjork, Snoop Dogg and Cher.
