Poorly children were given an Easter boost thanks to a generous donation from a Matlock optician.
Staff and customers at Lancaster and Thorpe opticians rallied round to collect Easter eggs for patients at the Royal Derby Hospital.
Manager Sue Black said: “We collected 78 eggs, which is quite a big haul for such a small town.
“We took the eggs in to the Nightingale Ward at the hospital, which is the children’s ward, and they were so grateful.
“The eggs came from customers and patients donating them. We were quite surprised to get so many.
“We’d like to say thankyou to everyone who donated an egg. We want them to know how grateful we are.”
