The nation’s leading first aid charity has recently launched two fantastic new fundraising events – the Superhero Skydive, to take place from June throughout the summer, and the September Superhero Stroll.

St John Ambulance wants people to gather their friends, colleagues, classmates or community group and sign up for the Superhero Stroll in September.

They can step out in style in their favourite superhero costume – from a comic book t-shirt to a full-on shiny bodysuit – and take a sponsored stroll to raise money and help the charity continue its mission of saving lives.

Superheroes use their powers to save lives – and they also get to wear great outfits. Always wished you could do the same? Well now you can! You can get creative and design some marvellous masks for a lunchtime walk with your work or classmates, or just grab all the lycra you can lay your hands on and head out on a Saturday night tour of the town with your most fantastic friends’, said Sarah Gerrard, Regional Fundraising Co-ordinator.

Do you like a nice view? Why not stretch yourself with a 10km walk through an area of natural beauty. It’s up to you. Just make sure you look the part in your best superhero costume and get sponsored, and you can’t go wrong! Anyone can take part, and you can choose a date in September to suit you, so get in touch with us now to sign up,’ she said.

The September Superhero Stroll will run alongside the charity’s annual Save a Life September awareness campaign. Over the course of the month, St John Ambulance volunteers will be giving hundreds of free first aid demonstrations in public spaces like shopping centres and train stations across the country.

‘At St John Ambulance we believe nothing is more tragic than a life lost needlessly. That’s why we’re dedicated to equipping as many people as possible with the skills to be the difference between life and death. But to do that we need donations and people to support us through fundraising events such as this. The more money we raise, the more people we can help,’ Sarah added.
