Star of The Voice to play in Wirksworth

Wirksworth Carnival Showcase takes place outside at the Hope & Anchor, Wirksworth, on Saturday, and will be a platform for some leading musicians from across the area and beyond.

The line-up includes Evlyn Lambert, Josh Vallance, Alex Rennie, Jason Barker, Matt Henshaw, Benjy CJ, City Limits, Havana Saints and Beth McCarthy, who was recently part of Team Ricky on BBCs The Voice.

Beth caught the attention with a string of show-stopping performances on the BBC show that caught the eye of celebrity judge Ricky Wilson, lead singer with Kaiser Chiefs, who offered a place on his team to her.

The Wirksworth Carnival music showcase gets underway from 4pm and runs through until 10pm. It offers a feast of treats for music fans in the Dales to enjoy.

Entry to the event is free, although donations will be collected throughout the evening with all money going towards next year’s Wirksworth Carnival.

The event is non-profit and raises money for the charity which runs Wirksworth Carnival through donations at the event.
