The PAGB-commissioned research showed that as well as wanting to prevent ill health, people worry about funding for the NHS and delays to get a doctor’s appointment if they become unwell.

However, despite this desire to remain in good health, they might not be making the best use of services to access health advice services available to them, with 91 per cent still relying on their GP to get information about their health.

In addition to this, only 62 per cent said that they trust their local pharmacist with their health concerns, making it a completely under utilised service.
