A team of Bakewell school pupils are planning to walk 46 miles each in order to pay for the trip of a lifetime.

Seven pupils from Lady Manners School will be attempting the Limestone Walk this weekend in the hope for raising cash for a trip to Malawi in July next year.

The pupils have each got to raise £3,200 to pay for the journey.

They will be joined by their teacher, David Fox, in a group of 48 people setting off from Castleton at 5am on Saturday.

Thirty one of the people taking part will walk 30 miles, the rest will continue to Rocester.

Among them will be 16–year–old Jack Gascoyne, of Chesterfield, who said: “A lot of us have been doing little events to raise money, but this is the biggest on that we have done so far.”

Jack himself will be taking part in a triathlon to raise money.
