Supports help raise over £1,500 for Bakewell charity at fair

Fair–goers helped raise more than £1,500 for a Bakewell–based charity.

The chief executive of Helen’s Trust, Heidi Hawkins, thanked more than 200 supporters who visited the charity’s stand at Chatsworth Country Fair.

The cash was raised through splat the rat games, mini golf competition and a lucky dip.

The Helen’s Trust mascot Bakewell Bear was also on hand to offer hugs and handshakes to passers–by.

Dedicated to giving people with terminal illness the choice to stay at home, Helen’s Trust supports people of all ages across the region – providing vital care packages, equipment and transport services.

Heidi said: “The Chatsworth Country Fair is a very important event in the Helen’s Trust diary.

“It provides an ideal opportunity for the charity to raise awareness about who we are and what we do and raise funds for the work that we carry out within our community.

“We are very grateful to everyone who donated so generously, and also to our sponsors for their continued support.”
