‘The best bike ride in Britain’
Pelican Cycles, of Chesterfield, has already stepped in to help sponsor and support this year’s event and entry forms will soon be available from the hospice, the Derbyshire Times and Pelican’s shop.
Jon, who will be taking part in the sponsored ride on July 28, said: “Last year’s charity ride was a huge success and we raised well over £7,500 and this year we’re hoping to top that to boost our 25/25 Appeal which we hope will see DT readers raise £25,000 for the hospice in its 25th year.”

There will also be refreshments and goody bags for every rider who takes part.
This year’s event will also include a smaller route for more modest riders and families to enjoy.
This year the hospice needs to raise about £3m towards its running costs, so the Derbyshire Times is not only helping to organise its second bike ride for the charity but has also launched a £25,000 appeal running through the year with support from our generous readers.
