Thieves ransack house on birthday

Between 7.30pm and 8.30pm on Thursday, August 29, crooks broke into a property in Gorse Ridge Drive, Baslow.

Entry to the house was gained through a downstairs bathroom window. Police believe a tool was used to force the window.

Once inside, the thieves ransacked the upstairs bedroom and stole every item of jewellery in the room.

The owners of the property noticed the burglary after returning from birthday celebrations at 9pm that night.
