Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area to report it.

PCSO Sue Lester, from Wirksworth and Middleton Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “The offenders will have needed to go underneath the vehicle to remove the parts and then make off with them.

“I’d urge anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area to call us as soon as they can.

“It’s also worth checking the security of your own vehicles and parking in a place where it would not be easy for a thief to get under the van and steal valuable parts.”

Witnesses or anyone with information should call Derbyshire police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
