KIDS’ favourite Thomas The Tank Engine makes his latest visit to the Midland Railway – Butterley on Saturday and Sunday, March 12 and 13.
The Day Out With Thomas event will see Thomas and Diesel hauling trains and some of the troublesome trucks will be taught how to behave with Sir Topham Hatt, the Fat Controller, keeping an eye on all the activities.
The new Imagination Station will be in use at Butterley Station and in addition there will be a special play coach and a picnic coach in case of bad weather.
There will be the chance to join in with activities such as giving Thomas a drink and singing a special song with the Fat Controller. All the younger visitors will be able to take home a special souvenir and certificate.
Trains will be running from 10.20am and will be calling at Swanwick Junction where visitors can alight and look round the two railway museums, country park, ride on the narrow gauge Golden Valley Light Railway, and visit the demonstration Further information is available on 01773 747674 or at www.midlandrailwaycentre.co.uk.
