Three praised
Making the presentations was treasurer Andrew Derbyshire who praised everyone for their efforts and handed over to Iris Wagstaffe a 1911 Whitworth Scholarship Medal.
The medal had originally been awarded to Frederick H Johnson, who later received the Victoria Cross.

Hide AdMrs Wagstaffe was co–ordinator of the festival and her deputy was Kay Bacon, who received a Victoria cup and saucer from the crockery set used when the Whitworth Institute opened in 1890.
For his fund–raising help Cllr George Draper received an inscribed tankard.
