A pair of talented teens have come out on top at a national story telling competition.
Jono Wingard, 17, and Sam Aitkin, 18, both of whom are from Matlock, stole the show at the Young Story Teller of the Year awards in Birmingham.
The duo, named Banterous Potential, told a tall tale about a wizard and a rogue who get drunk and dare each other to destroy a town each.
The boys were thrilled to be named the winners of the competition.
Sam said: “We both want to be professional actors and to be recognised at a national event like this will hopefully stand us in good stead.”
Director of the competition Graham Langley said: “This is the eighth year we have run this competition and we get a better response every year.
“We set it up in 2004 to encourage young people to get into story telling which is dominated by an older generation.”
