The Olympic torch will be shown a bird’s eye view of one of the Dales most popular attractions.
While the relay stops at Highfields School for lunch, the flame will be taken on the cable cars at Matlock Bath to the Heights of Abraham.
The attraction will display an Olympic mural designed by artist Tess Willoughby and Highfield sixth form students.
One of the directors of the Heights of Abraham, Rupert Pugh, said: “The organisers of the relay obviously think we are an important location in the area and we are very flattered.”
The attraction is open to visitors, however there will be disruption to the cable cars between 1.30pm and 3pm.
