Tour De France is coming to the Peaks in 2014

The world’s top cyclist are set to whoosh through the Peak District National Park as part of the Tour De France in 2014.

The Dark Peak’s dramatic moorland scenery will greet the cyclists on July 6 2014 as they compete on Day two of the event from York to Sheffield.

Riders will enter the national park at Holme village before swooping down the Woodhead pass. They will then pass the ranger centre at Langsett, pedal on through the Bradfield village before ending their day’s ride in Sheffield.
