Staff and volunteers at Crich Tramway Village are celebrating after picking up a prestigious Guardian Family Friendly Museum Award.
More than 100 museums were nominated for the biggest museum award in Britain.
Marketing manager Cara Marchant, said: “It is a real honour to be chosen as one of the top 20 Museums for families. I’d like to thank all those who voted for us and extend an invitation to anyone who hasn’t visited in recent years to come and take a ride on a tram and see for themselves the fantastic new developments that make Crich Tramway Village a great day out for all the family.”
The news of the award comes in a year where the village will see the opening of a major new attraction, the Stone Workshop Learning and Discovery Centre, a project to restore George Stephenson’s stone workshop.
