Trip up north for Bakewell probus club members

The now well established summer outing by the Bakewell and District Probus Club this year took in the North East with visits to Newcastle on Tyne, Beamish and Alnwick Castle. The party saw Agatha Christie’s Black Coffee, walked many miles round the extensive Beamish Museum and enjoyed Alnwick Castle. The party of 23 was led by chairman, Don Mackenzie.

Staying at the Thistle Hotel in Newcastle, the party saw a performance of Agatha Christies Black Coffee, walked many miles round the extensive Beamish Museum and enjoyed the splendours of Alnwick Castle. The party of 23 was led by chairman, Don Mackenzie.
At the last Club meeting members enjoyed a light hearted talk by Robert Cumming, assisted by Peter Donaldson, describing life and time on the Gridleford Flyer, describing getting to work in Sheffield by train. The group were so elitist thaty they even sported a badge!
Bakewell and District PRobus club has about 40 members, but there are still a few vacancies for new members. All enquiries to Hon. Sec., Ainsley Kelly, on 01246 582933.Matlock
