Tweets for footie fans

The police is offering footie fans a helping hand using digital media.

Derby County supporters can now use a new Twitter feed to find out valuable information on match days.

Derbyshire police launched @DCFCPolice today to tweet details about where fans can park ahead of matches, which pubs in Derby are fan–friendly and to give details of any road closures or traffic problems.

This information will be tweeted during every home game throughout the season.

The tweets will be sent out by officers who are in charge of policing matches at Pride Park, giving fans real-time information. The twitter feed will be launched ahead of Derby County’s match against Birmingham City FC on November 24.
