Update on Matlock Bath car plunge death

A Matlock man, who was found dead after his car is believed to have been driven off a cliff, was last seen the evening prior to his discovery.

The 65-year-old man, who has yet to be named by police, was found dead yesterday morning (Monday, June 2) in a black Chrysler PT Cruiser at the foot of High Tor, Matlock Bath, after a walker alerted the police to track marks at the top of the cliff.

Derby Mountain Rescue Team was called to recover his body from the car.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the police on 101, quoting incident number 102 of Monday, June 2.
