URGENT WEDDING APPEAL: Charity's plea to help cancer-stricken husband-to-be

A charity has put out a '˜very urgent' appeal calling for help with organising a wedding which has been brought forward as the husband-to-be is battling cancer.

The wedding was scheduled for mid September this year but is now going to take place next week on Friday, August 12, in Renishaw, Derbyshire.

The post on Facebook by Gift of a Wedding, which provides free wedding services to people with a terminal or life shortening illness, says: “August is normally the month Gift of a Wedding gets the chance to have a break. We don’t do weddings as we appreciate the wedding industry is so busy and may not be able to help.

“Sadly we are going to have to do a wedding this month as we have just been asked to move a wedding forward that was scheduled for mid September 2016. This wedding is for a very ill young man from Worksop, who is battling cancer.

“The wedding will now to taking place next Friday, August 12 2016, so we only have eight days to create his special day. We know we are asking a lot during this busy wedding period, but can you help or do you know any one who can?”

The charity is looking for the following for the special day:

Stationary

Photographer

Videographer

Postbox

Large love letters

Wedding planner

Ring cushion

Toast master

DJ

Car

Cake

Cup cakes

Candy cart

Photobooth

Singer

Edible favours

Flowers

Celebrant

Anyone who is able to help should send Gift of a Wedding a private message on Facebook or on Twitter @giftofawedding or email: [email protected]
