Valuables stolen after two farms targeted

Police are appealing for information after two farms in the Dales were targeted by thieves.

A haul of valuable items was stolen from outbuildings on land in the Hopton area of Wirksworth.

The theft took place some time between 7am and 3pm on Friday, September 13.

Items taken include an Ifor Williams twin-axle trailer, a Polaris quad bike, a motorbike, four chainsaws, tools and diesel.

The second incident happened at a farm in Hollington, near Ashbourne between 9am on Thursday, September 12, and 6pm on Friday, September 13.

Items taken include a yellow John Deere 456 pick-up baler – with a 5ft pick-up on the side, which has to be towed – and a blue Chapman bale sledge were stolen from a field in the village.

Anyone who has information should call police on 101, quoting crime number 39222/13.
