Hide AdSaturday was carnival day, and the whole town turned out to see the traditional floats and people dressed in costume parade through the town.
David Rawson, assistant chairman of the Bakewell Carnival committee, said: “Everything went perfectly. We put 1,200 ducks in the river for the duck race and there were 108 rafts for the raft race.”
He said the winning float for the parade was the Wheatsheaf pub float, which had the theme of Cafe Rene in ‘Allo ‘Allo.
“It was brilliant,” David added. “They made a cafe and they all dressed up.”
