Video: Olympian opens new Derbyshire sports area

A four–time Olympic gold medallist rower formally opened the newly refurbished games area.

Sir Matthew Pinsent CBE opens the newly refurbished Multi-User Games Area at Baslow Sports Field.

Sir Matthew Pinsent opened the multi–use games area (MUGA) at Baslow Sports Field.

The refurbishment follows a £30,000 grant awarded by Sport England to improve local sports facilities.

Sir Matthew said: “I am delighted to visit Baslow to take a look at the facilities and see what the team there are doing to encourage people of all ages to get involved in sport. For me this is where it all starts – relatively small schemes growing young people into potential Olympians of the future.”
