This photo of the ‘Pic or Peak Tor’ at Rowsley, was taken by Mercury reader Sarah Parkin, of Matlock.
It features a view of Riber Castle, if you look closely.
Sarah said: “ I had been looking for the best view to paint of this shapely hill for some time and I love this one. The view seems to say everything about the Tor that we expect but it is not often seen from this angle as it was taken from a quiet track opposite, full of bird song- pheasants and birds of prey.
“Since painting it, I have been told of the many names it is given by locals- Bubble Mountain, Gill’s Mountain...”
We would like to include more photographs of our landscape and architecture on this page and are inviting readers to submit pictures for use each week. Please also tell us a bit about the picture.
Anyone who gets one of their pictures printed will receive a set of First Edition collection stamps from Royal Mail.
