Chesterfield magistrates’ court heard on Tuesday, July 26, how Callum Bonney, 19, formerly of Tideswell Walk, Glossop, had been in a relationship with Kerrie Wilde and despite her attempts to end it he had continued to turn up at her address.

Prosecuting solicitor Becky Allsop told a previous hearing on July 12 that complainant Kerrie Wilde is the ex-partner of the defendant and they have a child together but she had tried to end the relationship.

Mrs Allsop added that Kerrie Wilde had been to a christening on May 29 and Bonney had contacted her throughout and when she returned home he was waiting and punched her in the face and she suffered a split lip which caused swelling.

Days later, on June 2, Kerrie Wilde’s mother Joan Grayson was at the address where Bonney lived collecting belongings and he pushed her and she fell over and suffered a fractured wrist, according to Mrs Allsop.

Mrs Allsop added that Bonney later visited Kerrie Wilde on June 6 demanding to know about Facebook comments concerning her and he said in front of their child that if she did not tell him about them he was going to slice off Ms Wilde’s mum’s head.

The defendant, now of Silverton Close, Hattersley, Hyde, pleaded guilty to assault by beating, assault occasioning bodily harm and making a threat to kill.

Defence solicitor Kirsten Collings requested a probation report before magistrates sentenced Bonney.

Magistrates committed Bonney to 18 weeks of detention suspended for 18 months with a Building Better Relationships programme and a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement.

He was also ordered to pay £150 compensation and was given a three-year restraining order not to contact Joan Grayson and Kerrie Wilde.
