Usual waste and recycling collection days will change for Derbyshire Dales residents over the Christmas and New Year bank holidays.

Homes where the usual collection day is a Thursday or Friday, will get their two collections at Christmas and New Year one day later than usual.

The situation is slightly more complicated for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday rounds, when collections are earlier than usual at Christmas.

The collection on Monday, December 23, is brought forward to Saturday, December 21. The collection on Tuesday, December, 24, is brought forward to Monday, December 23.

The usual Wednesday collection (Christmas Day) is brought forward to Tuesday, December 24.

The collections on Monday,December 30, and Tuesday, December 31, are unaffected – while the New Year week collection for the usual Wednesday round is on Thursday, January 2, rather than New Year’s Day.

All the collection dates are available online via the district council’s postcode search at www.derbyshiredales.gov.uk/waste
