WATCH: Derbyshire dad creates hilarious Little Britain style video to promote his town

One family thinks Staveley is a great place to live and have made a video to change people’s perceptions of the town.

James Lett, 38, has lived in the area for eight years after a change in jobs meant he was working in Sheffield, now with another job in Manchester he is finding it hard to sell his house as no one wants to live in Staveley.

The father-of-two said: “We knew that Staveley had a bit of an image problem years ago, but what with a new multi-million pound leisure centre, renovated canal system, great pubs, shops, schools, local amenities, connections to the M1 & rail links and surrounded by stunning countryside (including the Peak District) the town really is on the up.

“However, we get the sense that local people still associate the name Staveley with it’s old image.”

To try and combat this James has made a tongue-in-cheek video in the style of Little Britain showing people about the positive of Staveley, looking at the people, places and transport links.

His house in Rectory Road has been on the market since August and after getting no where he decided to try a different approach.

“The aim of this video is to help show local people that the town needs another look and encourage people that out of the area that Staveley should be considered as a great place to live.”
