Motorists in Chesterfield are being urged to drive carefully – with an active warning for floods and storms and a drain already bursting in one part of the town.

The Met Office has warned drivers in Chesterfield that, with a yellow warning currently in place for thunderstorms, spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.

Residents in Brimington have already reported problems – with a drain at the junction between Queen Street and Princess Street bursting, gushing considerable amounts of water onto the roads.
