On Tuesday afternoon there were still five flood warnings and 11 flood alerts active in East Midlands – including four flood warnings in Derbyshire. This comes after storm Babet hit the county last Friday with causing disruption and flooding.

The Environment Agency has urged Derbyshire residents to keep checking the flood alerts regularly. While the heavy rain passed on Saturday morning, river levels are likely to remain elevated for much of the week.

Our teams are working 24/7 across the region to keep people and their properties safe. We are urging people to keep checking their flood risk and not to drive through flood water which can move vehicles in levels of only 30cm.”
