Wirksworth Christian Aid Group is gearing up for a week of fundraising.
Christian Aid Week starts on Sunday, May 15, and Christian Aid supporters from all the churches in Wirksworth and the surrounding villages are getting ready to deliver the famous red envelopes to residents.
Group chairman Bob Rhodes said: “Last year the street collection in Wirksworth raised more than £5,000, more than half our total fund-raising effort of £9,900. We hope to do even better this year.
This year’s United Service will be held at Wirksworth Methodist Church on Sunday, May 15, at 6pm
There will also be a tea Party for the residents of Waltham House on Wednesday, May 18, at 2.30pm
