Well-dressings are to return to Tissington estate

A SPRING tradition is returning to a picturesque Peak village.

Six wells will be adorned with hand–crafted displays as part of this year’s Tissington Well-Dressings, which takes place from May 17 to 23.

Alongside the wells, the village boasts a variety of attractions including White Peak Farm Butchery, The Old Coach House Tearooms and Tissington Hall.

Sir Richard FitzHerbert, who owns the Tissington estate, said: “It’s rather ironic that we had a bumper rainfall in April, but even in drought our wells never dry up so it’s important to keep our traditions and we hope that our flower collages will be as captivating and inspiring as ever.”
