The weekends showers did little to dampen the spirits in Wirksworth as the town celebrated the annual carnival alongside the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
The three-day-long event started with the Blessing of the Wells as the town centre transformed into life with a farmers market and numerous stalls and activities.
From noon onwards a community picnic took place to mark the Jubilee and Wirksworth’s very own Carnival Queen, Shannon-Louise Temperton, was crowned.
