Students, staff and governors at a Dales school are celebrating after being praised by Government inspectors.
Anthony Gell School, in Wirksworth, has been rated ‘good’ overall by Ofsted inspectors, while the behaviour and safety of the pupils was found to be ‘oustanding’.
The inspector commented that the school provides ‘an exceptionally harmonious community, where all students are valued’ adding that ‘students are extremely polite, welcoming and very well mannered. Especially noteworthy is their ability to be self-disciplined’.
Head teacher David Baker said that he was very proud of all that the school had achieved and how hard staff, students and governors had worked to produce this outcome.
He said: “There are so many positive comments in the report that reflect the excellent achievements and behaviour of our students and how committed and hard-working all our teachers and support staff are.
“The report puts the school in a strong position to face the future.”
