Woman punched as men try to steal dog in Derbyshire market place

Police are appealing for information after the incident on Codnor Market Place between 6pm and 7.10pm yesterday.

The offenders approached the victim, punched her and tried to take the animal.

The men were described as white and spoke with Derbyshire accents.

One was 6ft tall, in his mid-30s, of stocky build with dark hair. He was wearing a dark jacket and trousers.

The other was bald and in his late-20s or early-30s.
