YOUR GROUP: Nearly 2000 hats made for Age UK by Chesterfield knitting group

This should make AgeUK around £500 – and we have had a lot of fun along the way!

We have been meeting up virtually and in person to share our latest creations. Several ladies got a touch addicted to making the little hats and started up a “100 club” - I have lost count of how many members there are so far.

We have been inspired and overwhelmed by the generosity of local people not only

by donating their time but their wool too. The Knitting and Sewing Bee (local shop)

even became a drop-off point for us as we started to run out of space to store them all in the studio!

If you want to join in and make some little hats it’s not too late as you can drop them

off in an AgeUK shop or post them directly to Innocent Smoothies head office, however we will be wrapping up the project and sending off the hats shortly, as we are now moving on to our next charity knitting projects that will involve raising awareness of ME in young people and raising funds for the rebuild of the Chesterfield and North Derbyshire RSPCA.
