Following the letter last week from Dr Mike Knapton of the British Heart Foundation imploring people to keep active I thought your readers might be interested in the walks led by the Peak District Mines Historical Society.
These free walks explore the Derbyshire countryside looking at the industrial heritage of bygone times. They are led by knowledgeable volunteers and vary in length and the type of terrain covered. Anyone can join the walks.
The next one is on the May 9 and is a mining heritage walk in Miller’s Dale. For details of this walk and others visit the Peak District Lead Mining Museum’s facebook page (www.facebook.com/PeakMines).
