The jaw-dropping footage will be backed up by a live symphony orchestra playing the Hans Zimmer produced soundtrack which served as a backdrop in the spectacular series.

13 dates

The tour is set to get underway on March 13, 2019 at the Bournemouth International Arena, before embarking on a further 12 dates at venues in citys across the UK and Ireland, including the Leeds First Direct Arena, the SSE Hydro in Glasgow and the O2 Arena in London.

The tour concludes at the Sheffield FlyDSA Arena on March 28.

Tickets for the 13 dates are released to the public on June 8, via blueplanet2live.co.uk - though advance venue booking will be available from June 6.

The tour announcement comes half a year after the epic series came to a close. Set across the world's oceans, Blue Planet II took viewers from the frigid depths of the Arctic, to the lively shallows of the tropics.

And Blue Planet II promises to immerse viewers further and deliver an "epic show that you will never forget."

The series' soundtrack was the brainchild of Hans Zimmer, band Radiohead and LA-based TV and film music producers Bleeding Fingers.

Speaking to i News earlier this year, Bleeding Fingers founder Russell Emanuel explained that his team, along with Radiohead and Zimmer created a tidal orchestra consisting of a symphony orchestra "playing pizzicato plucks" rather than "long sustained bows".

Emanuel also insisted that the score was created to compliment the legendary voiceover work of Attenborough, though it remains unclear whether the legendary broadcaster will be involved with the live tour.
