With Easter just around the corner, supermarkets are currently stocked with a whole array of treats.
But Lidl has upped its Easter egg game this year, by launching a chocolate egg infused with not only gin, but also prosecco.
Golden Sculpture egg
Lidl’s Deluxe Golden Sculpture egg features chocolate, gin and prosecco – and its eye-catching design makes it look like a piece of art than an Easter egg.
The main part of this egg is made from solid Belgian milk chocolate and decorated with gold swirls. Inside the hollowed out centre are three golden ‘ginsecco’ eggs. These small chocolate eggs contain both gin and prosecco – the perfect treat for fans of alcohol-infused chocolate.
Lidl describes this egg as a “Luxury milk chocolate egg with Ginsecco ganache filled truffles, crafted by British chocolatiers.”
This boozy egg, which costs £12.99, hit the shelves today (19 March).
Other supermarket chains are also offering a variety of unique Easter eggs this year, with Marks & Spencer also bearing the UK’s love of prosecco in mind, by creating a pink, prosecco Easter egg.
Their milk chocolate egg, named the ‘Proseggo’ is pink in colour and is infused with prosecco, raspberry and blackcurrant.
This luxurious Easter egg has been hand decorated with a swirling design and is made with ruby cocoa beans, costing £5.
