Ashford-in-the-Water 1sts will be playing Yorkshire Derbyshire League Division One cricket next season after defeating Bakewell 1sts by 37 runs to confirm their promotion from Division Two.
Ashford were bowled out for 116, but then successfully defended their target as the home side were dismissed in the 26th over of their reply.
Ashford’s openers got off to a flyer with 49 runs scored in 10 overs.
Ted Rowland top-scored with 29 before wickets tumbled as the visitors slipped to 69 for seven.
John Carrington and Peter Marsden dug in and pushed the score over 100, but Ashford’s 116 total looked below par.
Bakewell’s reply was in trouble immediately, however, as opening bowlers Joe Muir and Peter Marsden reduced them to 16 for four, helped by a fine one-handed catch at slip from John Carrington.
Muir returned to skittle the lower-order and finish with six for 26. Marsden claimed three for 16 and Carrington took one for 20.
