Sporting eyes were on Matlock on Bank Holiday Monday as the town held its annual triathlon.
Nearly 200 competitors took part in the event, which began at 7am from the poolside at the Arc Leisure Centre for a 400m swim followed by an 18km cycle and 5km run.
The event is a collaboration between the town’s swimming, cycling and athletic clubs, bringing the sports together for one race.
The fastest men were Eugene Grant in 58.37, Pete Shuttleworth in 59.46 and Steve Penney in 61.07, with their lady counterparts being Kate Morris in 70.21, Christine Howard in 71.18 and Michelle Willcocks in 72.02.
Michael Beech took the U20 prize and John Webster the U16, while 11-year old Elsbeth Grant, following in her father’s winning ways, was the first U16 girl and Sarah Lloyd the first U20.
Two donations of over £500 will be made to charities chosen by the winning man and winning lady.
