Sunday saw the Lamb’s Longer Leg Fell Race (5k/290m) take place, starting from the Lamb Inn on the Hayfield/Chinley Road.

The fourth Trigger Fell Race on January 11 saw entrants navigate their way from Marsden over Black Hill, Bleaklow and Kinder to Edale, visiting 3 trig points en route. The route is measured at 25 miles with 3,750 ft of climb.

It was very wet underfoot with a howling wind and overnight snow had made the going tough which meant that finishing times were down on last year.

The winner was Neil Northrop in 3.36.06 and the first lady, seventh overall, was Jasmin Paris in 3.51.30. For MAC, Richard Bradbury recorded 4.34.25, coming in 45th place.

The next race in the MAC Senior Grand Prix takes place on Sunday (25th) - the Tigger Tor Fell Race (14.5k/514m) organised by Totley Running Club.

There are very few races left in the GP so this race could be crucial in deciding the final standings. At present Colin Davenport is in pole position with 173 points, Christine Howard second on 153 and Dennis Belbin third on 150.
